Whenever I'm in a writing slump, I have to confess, that I sometimes make my characters in the Sims and then let them run wild. It's always a good exercise, at least for me, to come up with stories other than the book I'm writing. It offers a richer backstory, even if I'm not sharing it with the readers, but it makes the characters feel more real.
This time around, I really liked this challenge enough to share the things I wrote when I created my first Sim for it, Minty Julep Fresh. I used some of the backstory of a character that I wrote who lives in Louisiana. Minty Julep of course didn't live in Louisiana but her alter ego, Adele Mae does. So Minty Fresh started out her life at Newcrest in the Sims' game. And I'll be sharing her story and that of her descendants, as this is a legacy challenge for me, over the next few weeks.
