The Not So Berry Challenge is a challenge in the Sims that was put together by Lil Simsie and Always Simming. If you would like to partake in the challenge, you can find the rules here: Not So Berry Challenge.
After long discussiosn between Masami and Grisfils, they decided to enroll their daughter in a program that would allow her to be dual enrolled. It was scary at first to move to Britechester to pursue her college degree, at the same time as she was finishing her high school, but Amethyst worked hard and eventually earned a degree in Medicine.
Amtheyst studied hard, but also crushed hard on senior Matthew Kim. Of course, since Matthew was older, he only saw her as a little sister, at first. He was already dating one of his classmates, but sometime after, and once Amethyst turned twenty, they became roommates. They rented a house in Britechester with two other classmates, and slowly but surely, Matthew, who'd been a bit of casanova, started mending his way, and getting serious about having a relationship with Amethyst. Even though he was trying really hard it would take another year for Amethyst to start dating him.
Being a non-committal Sim, Amethyst didn't really want to get too serious. She had goals. First, she would quit her job at the retail shop and get a job with the local hospital. And that would take a lot of her time, so she didn't want to have to worry about juggling work and a relationship, however, when one of her college friends started hitting on Matthew, she knew that she would have to do something. It'd been a year since he'd asked her out, so Amethyst decided to ask him out and take it from there.
Matthew fit well with her family, and soon, Masami and Grisfils were best buds with Matthew themselves, asking him out to meet them at the bars, or for family dinner. Her brothers, Indigo and Slate also had been won over, and when Amethyst started to freak out about how serious the relationship was getting, there was only one person to reach out to. Her cousin Violet, Greyson and Chloe's daughter. They'd been close since childhood and had always been there for each other.
After Violet offered her reassurance that Matthew was probably not thinking about getting married, Violet told Amethyst the news that she was engaged to her boyfriend and expecting their first child. Amethyst returned to Britechester from Evergreen Harbor feeling a lot better. Especially, since she wasn't the one getting married and having a kid.
As Amethyst's profile as a doctor began to be better, and her publications began to get more popular, Matthew decided it was time for them to get engaged. First, while Amethyst was on call at the hospital, he had dinner with Grisfils, Masami and the twins, and ask them for Amethyst hand in marriage. Even though her parents loved Matthew, they both made it clear, since they knew their non-committal daughter so well, that it was Amethyst's decision to marry him or not.
After the dust settled in, Amethyst talked Matthew into a long engagement. So they agreed to wait one year to get married. Matthew disagreed at first, but Masami promised that she would make sure their wedding was memorable and for that she needed a year of planning. Matthew decided to trust Masami, and wait a year, secretly fearing Amethyst would change her mind.
After a few months of newlyweded bliss, Amethyst and Matthew decided to go on their honeymoon which they had to postpone as work for both of them wouldn't give them time off. When they finally managed to book it, they brought Grisfils, Masami and the twins with them, since they chose the place where Grisfils proposed to Masami: Selvadorada.
After returning from Selvadorada, Matthew and Amethyst began making plans for another getaway. Amethyst's fond of Mt Komorebi, since the family's history goes back a long time over there, but Matthew wasn't very keen on winter sports. Although he works out to keep himself in shape, he's not really into sports.
Not wanting to argue about where to vacation at, he decided that Amethyst could pick the place. All he wanted after all was to talk about having a baby. Amethyst of course, dodged the conversation like someone dodging a bullet. In the end, she asked him for more time to think about it and they ended up going on vacation again, a few months after their Selvadorada trip. Camping at Granite Falls came with its own set of rules and challenges, but Matthew and Amethyst made the best of the trip.
Once they were back at the daily grind, and during a night when she was on-call at the hospital, Amethyst found out she was pregnant. She didn't take the news well, especially because they were using protection and she was sure that they were covered. When she announced the unwanted pregnancy to Matthew, he tried hard to understand her feelings, and be supportive, but at the same time he felt like he couldn't understand her. Things got so bad, that he asked for a paternity test, since she was so bummed out about it. Thinking that she'd cheated on him.
Amethyst ran off to Evergreen Harbor to spend sometime with Violet and her family, and for reassurance. There, she spent sometime with Violet's adorable little son, and found out that her cousin and bestie was also pregnant. After two days of talking about her fears, and knowing that she didn't want to lose Matthew, she returned home to Britechester.
After welcoming Sunset Alani Fresh, Amethyst quit her job at the hospital to be a stay at home mom. However, things between Amethyst and Matthew continued to deteriorate, as she still hadn't made peace with the birth of Sunset. In the end, Matthew gave her an ultimatum. Either accept Sunset as their daughter, and love her as she should, or leave.
Amethyst tried hard, but when Sunset aged into a toddler, she simply couldn't handle it anymore. She and Matthew divorced, and she moved to Del Sol Valley, where she got a job as an entertainer, singing and dancing. While Matthew and Sunset remained at the family home in Britechester, since he'd taken up a job as a music professor at the university.
Amethyst felt miserable living on her own and away from Matthew and even missed Sunset. However, she didn't want to return to the marriage, if things weren't going to go her way. She remained at Del Sol Valley for a few years, until her father, Grisfils, called her home.
Amethyst returned to Brindleton Bay for a visit, and then accompanied Grisfils to Britechester, to visit Sunset, whom Grisfils adores.
Eventually, Grisfils managed to convince Amethyst to give Matthew and herself another chance. Advice that she took on board, as she'd seen how happy her father and her mother had been. Grisfils was totally heartbroken over Masami's death, but told Amethyst he wouldn't change a single day.
Amethyst and Matthew remarried, and had a second daughter, a little daughter called Clementine Masami.
Sunset and Clementine became the little princesses of the Fresh family, as they were the only grandchildren. Grisfils, Indigo and Slate doted on them, and created a strong bond through the years.
But no one had a tighter bond with Sunset than her granddad Grisfils, whom she idolized almost a bit more than she did her own dad. In the end, when Grisfils passed away, Sunset and Clementine felt the need to fill the void he left behind, by doing extra chores around the house, and try and cheer up their parents.
Amethyst and Grisfils took one last trip together after the twins' weddings, visiting the places that he'd been to as a child with his father, Bowie, and mother, Luisa. They also returned together to Selvadorada, where they'd made so many memories. Their last night together was spent at Desert Bloom Park. Grisfils told her all about Bowie's second nuptials to Ruby. And how Grisfils had served as the photographer, because his elder brother, Greyson, sucked at it. Amethyst returned home to spend the night at the old house, with her brothers and Grisfils, and pay her respects to her mother's grave. In the morning, Grisfils passed away, surrounded by his three children, and love.
After fulfilling her career goals and Renaissance aspiration, Amethyst returned to work as a doctor and professor at the school of medicine in Brittechester. She and Matthew adopted two cats, Nougat and Socks, and one chihuahua dog, Sacha, much to the delight of their daughters. And now that they're all settled, they're studying the possibility of sending Sunset and Clementine to the Gifted Boarding School in San Myshuno, as they're gifted students.
