I can't believe that it's been nine years since Interred was published.
Declan Ashdown appeared in my life on a hot day in Florida. Of course, he was walking around in a blizzard, and I was intrigued.
Writing Interred was a unique and never-ending road of surprises. Let's say that when I was writing the first draft, I kept thinking Declan was a ghost.
I infused Baxter with all the love that I had to give because I could see not only myself but a lot of my friends in her. And of course, Jack had to be the loveliest and strongest character that I could write so he could go on this adventure through time with Baxter.
Nine years on, I must say that many people helped Interred to publication. Beta readers, reviewers, a book tour company, my friends, readers, and my family all played a massive role in promoting the book and giving me the courage to write the rest of the series and never to look back and regret anything. Karen Gingerich, my editor, took a chance on the book, forever intertwining our lives. I'm lucky to count her as a dear friend still to this day.
And I guess today; I want to repeat it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read Interred and leave your reviews and feedback. I've always been surprised by emails about the book throughout the years. They always find me when I doubt my abilities as a writer, and I can't tell you enough how much the love you have for the book and the characters helped me realize that this is what I was born to do.
Thank you,
Lyn
