There are only two days left of this year.
And I can hardly believe it.
2023 was the year of many changes and little victories for me. As we all prepare to celebrate a new year, I hope you and yours have a beautiful, healthy, and blessed 2024.
This year, my biggest goal was to lose 100 lbs; I reached -97 pounds/44 kilos, so I'm chuffed about it, and I hope that next year, I can keep on losing weight. For this to happen, a lot had to change in my mind and everyday life. It wasn't easy, but it was achievable. And I hope anyone reading this who wants to make changes can make those changes for the better in their life.
Now that that is out of the way let's talk books.
This year, there were so many fantastic books out there. And now, with a few days left in the year, the most significant release I'm waiting on is Nikki Jefford's Spellcaster. She's one of my favourite authors and a dear friend, and no one writes fantasy as she does.
Next year, I have a few books that I want to publish. However, unlike previous years, I won't be doing preorders. This is partly because Amazon banned me for a year since I had to cancel the release of Closer to the Edge, but also because the preorder schedule burned me out. I have two books I'm currently writing, Under the Norman Sky and Winter in Jeju. Both are directed at the adult romance market.
I started writing Under the Norman Sky ten years ago as my love letter to France, especially Normandy, under the title, Snow in Paris. The story follows two chefs, both born in France, but one goes back to the US, where they grew up. Victoria and Sebastien's story is all about second chances and learning to cope with traumatic events.
I have a soft spot for the second book, Winter in Jeju. The characters are fun, and though they're both going through significant upheaval in their professional and personal lives, they both make a great team. In my humble opinion, there's no more beautiful Winter background than the lovely island of Jeju.
There might be two other releases toward the end of 2024, but for now, these are the books that I will concentrate on. Stetsons and Soju might be released at the end of 2024. Of course, this is subject to change, depending on how this year goes.
For now, I must say Happy New Year to you and yours!!
